Administrative and biographical history: In 1837 to present, marriages in Congregational churches were legalised if it was licensed for the purpose, and an authorised person ior Civil Registrar had to be present to complete the legal formalities, together with the minister who performed the marriage ceremony. The Independent and Congregational churches in Glamorgan maintained their own registers.
