CONTEXT
Administrative and biographical history: The Pearl Street Baptist Mission from which the Splott Road Baptist Church, Cardiff, Glamorgan, was established, was started in 1880. In 1883, a public meeting of members was called and a committee was appointed to select a site for the erection of a new school chapel. The site was fixed in 1885, and work commenced in October 1886. The building was opened in Splott Road in 1887. A new church was erected in 1893. The last service in the church was held in 1983.

Scope and content: Records of Splott Road Baptist Church, Cardiff, 1884-1974, including: minutes of church meetings, 1884-1971; minutes of deacons' meetings, 1892-1960 (with gaps); minutes of Sunday School teachers' meetings 1896-1939; membership rolls, 1915-1956; members' subscription book, 1887-1892; letters of dismissal (transfer) to and from Splott Road Baptist Church, 1909-1916; Senior Bible Class attendance book, 1957-1961; finance and legal papers, 1887-1974; members handbooks, 1909-1927, 1927-1959; and copies of Splott Road Baptist Magazine, 1926-1932.
