Administrative and biographical history: Wylfa is a nuclear power station situated west of Cemaes Bay on the island of Anglesey, North Wales. Construction began in 1963 and the reactors became fully operational in 1971. The reactors have a combined capacity of 980 MW and are the largest of its type to be built in the UK. The pressure group PAWB (Pobol Atal Wylfa B/People Against Wylfa B) was founded 18 May 1988, in Porthaethwy for the purpose of preventing the construction of a second nuclear power station on Anglesey (Wylfa B). More recently, it has also campaigned for the decommissioning of the existing plant. Megan Môn Prytherch [alive 1989] was a registered objector to the proposed Wylfa B nuclear power plant.
